The Minnesota State Renaissance Festival is a fun event that takes place each year in Shakopee. It typically takes place around Labor Day Weekend and it is a great place to have your wedding or other group event. There is live entertainment like Middle Eastern music, belly dance competitions and lessons, martial arts demonstrations, games and so much more for the entire family to participate in while you are here. Residential garbage pickup for residents of Shakopee is done by Lakeville Sanitation. As part of the service, you will receive a refuse container on wheels. You can choose between a 30, 60 or 90 gallon container, but you will be charged based on the size you choose. Yard waste needs to be in brown paper bags for easier composting or you can rent a 30-gallon refuse container marked with "Yard Waste." You can also place your recyclables by the curb if you choose to recycle and they will be picked up on the same day as your normal trash.
